One of my favorite Bible passages:

The Cloud on the Tabernacle

15Now on the day that the tabernacle was erected, the cloud [of God’s presence] covered the tabernacle, that is, the tent of the Testimony; and in the evening it was over the tabernacle, appearing like [a pillar of] fire until the morning. 16So it was continuously; the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. 17Whenever the cloud was lifted from over the tent (tabernacle), afterward the Israelites would set out; and in the place where the cloud stopped, there the Israelites would camp. 18At the LORD’S command the Israelites would journey on, and at His command they would camp. As long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle they remained camped. 19Even when the cloud lingered over the tabernacle for many days, the Israelites would keep their obligation to the LORD and not set out. 20Sometimes the cloud remained only a few days over the tabernacle, and in accordance with the command of the LORD they remained camped. Then at His command they set out. 21If sometimes the cloud remained [over the tabernacle] from evening only until morning, when the cloud was lifted in the morning, they would journey on; whether in the daytime or at night, whenever the cloud was lifted, they would set out. 22Whether it was two days or a month or a year that the cloud [of the LORD’S presence] lingered over the tabernacle, staying above it, the Israelites remained camped and did not set out; but when it was lifted, they set out. 23At the command of the LORD they camped, and at the command of the LORD they journeyed on; they kept their obligation to the LORD, in accordance with the command of the LORD through Moses.  Numbers 9:15-23 Amplified Bible

Sometimes 6-Sentence Stories is all it takes to make the week worth ploughing through, right?  It’s odd when a Monday can be super-blessed, then Tuesday “pulls a Monday”!

Oh well, that’s life–and here we are for more great writing from wonderful folks, and the best host ever: Denise, who serves up the weekly prompt words.  This week we have GROUND, which offers a plethora of story ideas.  So if you’re new here, click the link above for all the info, and hop on board–everyone is welcome!

“Judd,” she said softly, coming into his studio, “I’m making the grocery list–will you be taking a break soon?”

“Yes, Love”–he turned to smile appreciatively as he looked her up and down–“fire away, what’s on the list?”–then frowned as he read ‘ground chicken’ and asked what it was for.

She put a finger to his lips, said, “it’s healthier than beef, I’ll put it in meatloaf, you’ll never know the difference”; he raised an eyebrow, replied, “I’m a detective and you’ve just confessed, case closed”.

“And now you’re a comedian–none of your former colleagues would believe it, ‘the man with no sense of humor’–anyway, just get what’s on the list, no wandering the aisles…unless you want to pick out some carnations…for the mess you made with coffee grounds.”

“Ah, but it wasn’t me…must have been our invisible cat.”

She grinned, “you’re about to be invisible, Mr Forensic Expert–it only takes a minute to use the hand-vac; and don’t say I should make your coffee–you declared long ago that non-coffee drinkers can’t make decent coffee…it’s in our contract, small print”; he kissed her hard before she could say another word and left with her list.💖

God Will Fulfill His Word

The word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see the branch of an almond tree.” Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.”

Mardi Gras/Zydeco Music!

My late cousin would never forgive me if I let Mardi Gras go past without a mention.  It’s the last party before Ash Wednesday (Lent begins), a wildly crazy and colorful celebration no matter where you choose to partake–you don’t have to go to New Orleans!  The parades are a lavish spectacle–and the food…well there’s just nothing like it.

I’ve never been to Mardi Gras, actually–I don’t need quite that much wild and crazy jubilation.  However, I am half-Cajun (I can testify to the food), and I enjoy lively zydeco music (and watching couples dance to it).  There’s no way you can sit still–it will grab you, and your feet start moving without permission.

So Theresa, I miss you more than I can say.  And if you’re still watching over me–I didn’t make a pot of gumbo this year but I’m bringing the music, and my Cajun-side is dancing in the Upper Room!  Say “hi” to Aunt Lucy & Uncle Harrison–I hear tell they lived for “dancing to that French music”.💖
