I’d Rather Be ~ One-Liner Wednesday

Frankly, my dear…I’d much rather be in Heaven where life is finally perfect–but since I’m still here, there must be more for me to do, encouraging those whose lives are harder than mine.

~ Cale

Amplified Bible

Isaiah 44:6
Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

Isaiah 45:22-25
Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is no other. / By Myself I have sworn; truth has gone out from My mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow before Me, every tongue will swear allegiance. / Surely they will say of Me, ‘In the LORD alone are righteousness and strength.’” All who rage against Him will come to Him and be put to shame.

Deuteronomy 6:4-5
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One. / And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

4The idols [of the nations] are silver and gold,

The work of man’s hands.

5They have mouths, but they cannot speak;

They have eyes, but they cannot see;

6They have ears, but they cannot hear;

They have noses, but they cannot smell;

7They have hands, but they cannot feel;

They have feet, but they cannot walk;

Nor can they make a sound with their throats.

8Those who make them will become like them,

Everyone who trusts in them.  Ps 115:4-8

Douay-Rheims Bible
Assemble yourselves, and come, and draw near together, ye that are saved of the Gentiles: they have no knowledge that set up the wood of their graven work, and pray to a god that cannot save.

 Isaiah 45:20

~~†~~

We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world, and that there is no God but one. / For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many so-called gods and lords), / yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we exist. And there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we exist.

I Corinth 8:4-6

Romans 1:21-23
For although they knew God, they neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts. / Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools, / and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images of mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

Habakkuk 2:18-19
What use is an idol, that a craftsman should carve it—or an image, a teacher of lies? For its maker trusts in his own creation; he makes idols that cannot speak. / Woe to him who says to wood, ‘Awake!’ or to silent stone, ‘Arise!’ Can it give guidance? Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver, yet there is no breath in it at all.”

NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES (& when a ‘negative’ is actually a blessing!)

I don’t know if you’ve noticed (I only realized it today), but with just a shift of letters, NAME becomes AMEN.  In the context of Christian faith this really thrilled me–because JESUS is the Name above all names, and to whatever He says, I strive to shout out an enthusiastic AMEN, LORD!

Philippians 2:9-11
Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name above all names, / that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, / and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Amplified Bible
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].” Acts 4:12

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.

Indeed, for the sake of His great name, the LORD will not abandon His people, because He was pleased to make you His own.

LOVE…

LOVE, 1st Corinthians 13

4Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. 5It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. 6It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. 7Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].

13And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13

Literary humor about Love:

Erich Maria Remarque, author of All Quiet On the Western Front, years ago made this analysis:  “American novel–two people want each other from the beginning but don’t get each other until the end.  French novel–two people get together right at the beginning, but from then on don’t want each other anymore.  Russian novel–two people don’t want each other or get each other, and for the next 800 pages they brood about it.”

Reflection

Amplified Bible
For now [in this time of imperfection] we see in a mirror dimly [a blurred reflection, a riddle, an enigma], but then [when the time of perfection comes we will see reality] face to face. Now I know in part [just in fragments], but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known [by God].  1 Corinth 13:12

Amplified Bible

HE Knows Me

I know that I know that I KNOW Jesus loves me💖  “The Bible tells me so”–and HE shows me everyday in so many blessed ways!  The best part is–HE Knows Me, and loves me anyway!

Here’s an “oldie” from the Contemporary Christian music files, by Dallas Holm.

God bless you! ~ Cale

Just Jesus: Abundant Joy (nothing else needed)

J

JESUS JOY

E

EVERYDAY in every season, He’s the One for me!

S

SHEPHERD (not just Good, the Best)–He keeps His sheep well; ever watchful, He feeds, leads tenderly…

U

UNTIL He returns, His chosen wait eagerly…

S

SON of GOD, SAVIOR of the World, SEEKER of the Lost, Light in the darkness, Healer, Truth, Teacher, Counselor, Advocate, God’s Word made flesh… ~ and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom.

He freely gives grace, mercy, wisdom, and more–in abundant supply.  Whatever you need, HE’s got it ~ don’t be shy, He’s approachable, full of Love.  Just ASK, SEEK, KNOCK–He will always answer, His arms are open wide.

How do I know any of this?  Glad you asked, because I’m not making it up!  In 2011, during Holy Week, I was visited by the Trinity: Father, Son, Holy Ghost (Spirit).  I saw them as though from a distance–the way you’d see and recognize someone coming toward you on a foggy day.

They stood together in the northwest corner of my living room, and Father God spoke as clearly as my best friend in IL would.  He said, “you’ve had a difficult time, your years have not been easy–wouldn’t you like to have the Abundant Life My Son died to give you?”

I said YES!  That was my first Best Easter, I will never forget it–and I’ve been beyond-grateful ever since.  I’ve told my story to lots of people and no one has ever expressed disbelief (suggesting I was delusional or spinning a tale from “wild imagination”).

Every single person has said they felt goosebumps; they knew that my Jesus and the Visitation was the real deal.  HE has forgiven me much, healed me of some things.  He is my strength and courage to face each day…and His Presence fills me with JOY.  Just thought you might like to know😊

Amplified Bible
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom]. 2 Corinth 3:17

9“So I say to you, ask and keep on asking, and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10For everyone who [h]keeps on asking [persistently], receives; and he who keeps on seeking [persistently], finds; and to him who keeps on knocking [persistently], the door will be opened. Luke 11:9-10

Amplified Bible Portions of Book of John

And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception). John 1:14

2 He who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep [the protector and provider]. 3 The [a]doorkeeper opens [the gate] for this man, and the sheep hear his voice and pay attention to it. And [knowing that they listen] he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out [to pasture]. 4 When he has brought all his own sheep outside, he walks on ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice and recognize his call. 5 They will never follow a stranger, but will run away from him, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”

7 So Jesus said again, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am [b]the Door for the sheep [leading to life]. 8 All who came before Me [as false messiahs and self-appointed leaders] are thieves and robbers, but the [true] sheep did not hear them. 9 I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever], and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security). 10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

11[c] I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd [d] lays down His [own] life for the sheep.   14 I am the Good Shepherd, and I know [without any doubt those who are] My own and My own know Me [and have a deep, personal relationship with Me]– 15 even as the Father knows Me and I know the Father–and I lay down My [very own] life [sacrificing it] for the benefit of the sheep. 16 I have [e]other sheep [beside these] that are not of this fold. I must bring those also, and they will listen to My voice and pay attention to My call, and they will become [f]one flock with one Shepherd.

My Hope, Helper, Happiness

I won’t go back, and I won’t quit

I won’t go back, and I won’t quit

I’ll say it again:

I won’t go back, and I won’t quit!

My hope is in The Lord

HE says my best is yet to be

my future’s filled with blessings

Not cancelled by calamity

He’s my helper, hope and happiness

why would I entertain defeat?

that Devil lost the battle already

I won’t fall for his vile deceit!
