… Patchwork life
patched-up heart
fading patchwork brain
patchwork thoughts unraveling
mismatched memories
tear
remain…
but patchwork soul
is prized posession
redemption stitched
with reddest thread

Ah yes, I’m a grateful gal!!
The “gigantor totes project” is nearly finished, and still thrilling me. Thankful they are good quality plastic and quite reasonably priced…I probably only need 2 more, yippee!
Very thankful for my “Russian doll”, caregiver extraordinaire. Even after falling and wounding both wrists she was still eager to help me–I felt a bit guilty, needing her to use the difficult can opener on 6 small cans of tuna last Monday, but she insisted so I sent her home with another home-baked cake. Her big smile makes my heart happy!
And yesterday I learned she’s just as good with communication skills, as with shopping and household stuff. That was a huge relief…I can tell her things, not keep them bottled up for fear she’ll quit.
Very grateful to have a good speaker at church today–the message was “What Do You See?”, and Pastor talked about how we view folks, impacts how we’ll treat them. Do we see them through the lens of bias or bitterness? We’re all made in God’s image, and we need to see everyone as HE sees them, with LOVE.
I ordered some yummy mini dumplings from Amazon–oh my, they’re like small potstickers filled with seasoned chicken and cabbage…delightful!
The temps were cold…then last night warmed up and we have serious rain–all of which I’m thankful for indeed (no snow).
I managed to finish the 1000-piece puzzle (with much frustration–but hey, squinting through cataracts, that’s a grateful victory)!
Both of my neighbor’s cats are in heat…after a 2-day absence, they were quite happy to see me (not sure what that means, but I’ll take it as a positive–they weren’t snarling at me).
Thankful for blogging: the socializing (within my comfort limits), and knowing I can still “write something”.
Always and ever grateful that I’m a beloved child of God, and He is for me!

Life is precious because there are no limits to the fineness of human sensitivities. We are capable of responding to the good, the true, the beautiful. We have the capacity to love and to respond to love.” ~ Norman Cousins

One of my favorite Bible passages:
The Cloud on the Tabernacle
15Now on the day that the tabernacle was erected, the cloud [of God’s presence] covered the tabernacle, that is, the tent of the Testimony; and in the evening it was over the tabernacle, appearing like [a pillar of] fire until the morning. 16So it was continuously; the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. 17Whenever the cloud was lifted from over the tent (tabernacle), afterward the Israelites would set out; and in the place where the cloud stopped, there the Israelites would camp. 18At the LORD’S command the Israelites would journey on, and at His command they would camp. As long as the cloud remained over the tabernacle they remained camped. 19Even when the cloud lingered over the tabernacle for many days, the Israelites would keep their obligation to the LORD and not set out. 20Sometimes the cloud remained only a few days over the tabernacle, and in accordance with the command of the LORD they remained camped. Then at His command they set out. 21If sometimes the cloud remained [over the tabernacle] from evening only until morning, when the cloud was lifted in the morning, they would journey on; whether in the daytime or at night, whenever the cloud was lifted, they would set out. 22Whether it was two days or a month or a year that the cloud [of the LORD’S presence] lingered over the tabernacle, staying above it, the Israelites remained camped and did not set out; but when it was lifted, they set out. 23At the command of the LORD they camped, and at the command of the LORD they journeyed on; they kept their obligation to the LORD, in accordance with the command of the LORD through Moses. Numbers 9:15-23 Amplified Bible
(Nehemiah 8:10)
The word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see the branch of an almond tree.” Then the LORD said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [actively] watching over My word to fulfill it.”

He will send from heaven and save me; He calls to account him who tramples me down. Selah. God will send out His lovingkindness and His truth. Psalm 57:3
I am so excited to share this video from last week at Elevation Church in Charlotte, NC! An online member for a number of years, I consider it my long-distance “home church”–and Pastor Steven Furtick’s messages get better every week. He’s genuine, humble, honest, and humorous–and he knows the Bible inside out. He wears his heart and his faith on his sleeve, and I’ve been deeply blessed by how he ministers God’s Word.
I hope you enjoy their amazing gospel music team, and hearing about all that the Lord has done through a young couple–Steven and Holly–who were only 25 when they felt called to start a church, and had only 19 folks with them. The story is moving, filled with miracles and the favor of God on faith-filled people. And they are the first to give All Glory to GOD!

Some people love Valentine’s Day, others abhor it…or think it’s just one more holiday to enrich those in the business of selling stuff. But I’m not so cynical, because my Valentine is the ONE TRUE GOD who loves me like the ROCK HE is–JESUS. He treats me exceptionally well everyday, His Presence wafts around me with the perfume of Heaven.
Okay, I can hear the eye-rolling, and I understand how crazy I might sound, romanticizing the Lord an’ all–but here’s the thing: though I live a normal life with challenges—the relationship I’m talking about is REAL; and I can’t shy away from sharing about Him…because then the stones would cry out (Jesus replied, “I tell you, if these [people] keep silent, the stones will cry out [in praise]!”)
Do you remember the movie “Sister Act”–with Whoopi Goldberg, who played a gal hiding out in a convent, after witnessing a mob hit? The nuns were great and the music was fabulous: “My Guy”, “I Will Follow Him”, “Rescue Me” were all adapted to reflect their spiritual love affair with Jesus.
Those songs weren’t merely pop tunes–the Bible is full of scripture about how much the Lord God loves people, and runs to the rescue over and over throughout history. Read the stories for yourself–here’s a ‘short’ list of verses:
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned…” John 3:16-18 King James Bible

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. Amplified Bible
There is no fear in love [dread does not exist].
