Treading Water
Ah, but she had
a fecund sense of humor
when not treading tearful
waters in the Bleak.💔

Winter’s fare-thee-well
Spring twines the heart with blossoms
Heaven’s fragrant dew
fresh hope that prayers be answered
for all loved ones, world around
~ Cale
Silver’d sliver moon
pin smallest wishes to it
miracles, must pray
light crescent can’t bear burden
of Earth’s strange unwieldy ways

I told them twice
I told them nice
but they ignore
my yearly advice
to wait till Spring
their faces, show!
brave fools, they are
my cherry blossoms…
but lovely, yes, amid March snow ~

Sovereign’s steady hand
pours gentle rain of blessing
tastes like coming spring
though chilly gray it’s welcome
singing prayers of gratitude

She bought a hand-vac
red as lipstick hookers wear
but not her, never
Dude said it was powerful
could suck up a good-size cat
she had no cat, so
selling point was lost on her
Home, she plugged it in
pressed it against her temple
praying memories be gone
~ Hagar
Poem from Hagar:
Imagination
sparkling gift, wealth of childhood…
it brush-paints long days
pours hourglass full…illusions
spiced honey panacea–
Harsh-edged Time erodes
warps veneer…Reality
bared leaves soul at risk
~H~
Pearlescent moonrise
February’s parting gift
of chill remembrance

So joyful Sue was, to be picked for the cast
but her mother stared daggers, completely aghast
“you’ll NOT be half-dressed, a disgrace on the stage–
when your father finds out, you’ll catch heat of his rage!”
Sue couldn’t help smiling–Dad would see her at last ♥ ~
