Grief is for the strong, who use it as fuel for burning.

“The Weight of Water”*

Sometimes I think that if it were possible to tell a story often enough to make the hurt ease up, to make the words slide down my arms and away from me like water, I would tell that story a thousand times.

Of all the fiction I’ve read in over 60 years, this line is so personal that I wish I’d writen it. ~ Cale

Music Manna

One of my first posts on this blog was about Jabez, and his prayer to God.  Well, I just watched a short documentary which fired me up again–so excited because it’s a powerful prayer.  I figured there had to be a song on YouTube about the Jabez prayer, so here’s the one I chose for y’all this Lord’s Day.  Enjoy–and Be Blessed!!

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; but his mother named him Jabez, saying, “Because I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, saying, “Oh that You would indeed bless me and enlarge my border [property], and that Your hand would be with me, and You would keep me from evil so that it does not hurt me!” And God granted his request.

Relationship Advice 😊

I found 2 quotes in my treasure box by Leo Buscaglia, from his book, Loving Each Other ~

Don’t lose touch with the craziness in you.  This, with a large dose of caring, will assure that your relationship will never be boring.

If you take time to talk together each day you’ll never become strangers.

News Bulletin: Birchwick Cliff

I’m setting up a 2nd site connected to this blog.  No obligation for anyone to read, etc–but it will be where I post excerpts from “Richard’s” book about Birchwick Cliff.

That way, I can offer interested readers more background information–without burdening the 6-Sentence Story posts!

Hopefully, the introduction will be posted tomorrow, or early next week.  If the link works properly you’ll find it at https://birchwickcliff.wordpress.com/

Gentle Rain

Sovereign’s steady hand

pours gentle rain of blessing

tastes like coming spring

though chilly gray it’s welcome

singing prayers of gratitude

Hagar & the Hand-Vac

She bought a hand-vac

red as lipstick hookers wear

but not her, never

Dude said it was powerful

could suck up a good-size cat

she had no cat, so

selling point was lost on her

Home, she plugged it in

pressed it against her temple

praying memories be gone

~ Hagar
