Love Dwells Within💓

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Ephesians 3:14-21 King James Bible

Peshitta Holy Bible Translated
And the house of my dwelling will be in them, and those shall be a nation to me…

Ezekiel 37:27

Lord, You have been our dwelling place [our refuge, our sanctuary, our stability] in all generations.

Psalm 90:1 Amplified Bible

“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them as their God.

One-Liner-Wednesday ~ Laughter

Badge by Laura @ riddlefromthemiddle.com

As I got older my motto became, “Faith, Funny & Food”–the first 2 are absolutely as essential as food; I ate chips, donuts, pizza to cope–but without faith in the Lord Jesus, and the gift of humor, I was sinking fast (might have been the food too😉). ~ Cale

Sorry this is more than one line…I was on a roll (with cheese).

Love Gives Refuge💖

Nahum 1:7
The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of distress; He cares for those who trust in Him.

Proverbs 18:10
The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.

Psalm 91:2
I will say to the LORD, “You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

Psalm 62:7-8
My salvation and my honor rest on God, my strong rock; my refuge is in God. / Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah

2 Samuel 22:31
As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.

For those like me, who enjoy reading various translations/versions of Bible scripture, here is Psalm 46:1 with different phrasings:

God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.  Amplified Bible

† God is our refuge and strength, a helper who is always found in times of trouble.  Christian Standard Bible

Young’s Literal Translation
God is to us a refuge and strength, A help in adversities found most surely.

Brenton Septuagint Translation
For the end, for the sons of Core; a Psalm concerning secret things. God is our refuge and strength, a help in the afflictions that have come heavily upon us…

Catholic Public Domain Version
Unto the end. To the sons of Korah, for confidants. A Psalm. Our God is our refuge and strength, a helper in the tribulations that have greatly overwhelmed us.

Douay-Rheims Bible
Unto the end, for the sons of Core, for the hidden. Our God is our refuge and strength: a helper in troubles, which have found us exceedingly.

International Standard Version
God is our refuge and strength, a great help in times of distress

Love Serves💖

Be hospitable to one another without complaint. Just as each one of you has received a special gift [a spiritual talent, an ability graciously given by God], employ it in serving one another as [is appropriate for] good stewards of God’s multi-faceted grace [faithfully using the diverse, varied gifts and abilities granted to Christians by God’s unmerited favor]. Whoever speaks [to the congregation], is to do so as one who speaks the oracles (utterances, the very words) of God. Whoever serves [the congregation] is to do so as one who serves by the strength which God [abundantly] supplies, so that in all things God may be glorified [honored and magnified] through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever.  1 Peter 4:9-11

Seagulls Crying

From Hagar ~

In half-sleep she heard

the seagulls crying, sound

of distress unsettling her…

so brief, then nothing–

she wondered if she’d

only imagined the cries

but they wouldn’t leave her…

over several days

she thought of them

had her birds tried to send

her a message, like winged

prophets…was it harbinger

of coming loss perhaps…

she’d waited so long

for their return

would not have wanted

to miss even one word…

not in this strange

impassioned winter

its contradictory silence…

its restless wonderings–
