Would curses wound less

if they were unspoken?

Are blessings worth less

if left unspoken?

It’s the thought that counts

so the saying goes–

but kind words of truth

or ones which speak

genuine affirmation

can redeem a bad day

…even save a life

that’s falling away

Amplified Bible
“No weapon that is formed against you will succeed; And every tongue that rises against you in judgment you will condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And this is their vindication from Me,” says the LORD.

Isaiah 54:17

PROVERBS

Peshitta Holy Bible Translated
He that speaks the word is an apple of gold in a vessel of beaten silver.  Proverbs 25:11

Proverbs 15:23
A man takes joy in a fitting reply—and how good is a timely word!

Proverbs 12:25
Anxiety weighs down the heart of a man, but a good word cheers it up.

Proverbs 16:24
Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.

Proverbs 10:20-21
The tongue of the righteous is choice silver, but the heart of the wicked has little worth. / The lips of the righteous feed many, but fools die for lack of judgment.

Proverbs 12:18
Speaking rashly is like a piercing sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.

Proverbs 18:21
Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

The consistency of faith

is like grandma’s taffy

Ingredients are boiled

till thick–then pulled

and stretched until

it’s shiny (like God’s grace

on a child’s face)–

Taffy is a chewy treat

tastes almost like

faith rewarded

 Sweet!

The heart is an organ

made to be strong

created for songs

to sing whole life long–

the heart is an organ

a passionate door

(each with unique key)

made to be strong

carry secrets and more–

my heart is an organ

made to last…

yet fragile as glass

Now, I can’t say I’ve heard this straight from the bird’s beak (not even a wize owl’s), but my observation is that crows have a philosophy:

“Don’t let winter stop you from getting down there on the square and picking at whatever treats might be found between chill green grass blades!  Picnickers are scarce in January.”
